New to Clarksville
PCS week is a lot. This is the short list most families need sorted in the first week or two, with locally owned options for each. Veteran-owned and military spouse-owned businesses are marked.
A dentist
Check which offices take your dental plan before you call. Many keep a waitlist for new patients.
A family doctor or pediatrician
Off-post care may need a referral or an approved network provider, so check your plan first.
Childcare
Good daycares fill up. Get on two or three waitlists the week you arrive.
A mechanic you trust
Find one before the long drive home on block leave, not after.
A vet
Bring your pet's records from your last duty station so vaccines don't get repeated.
A barber or salon
Plenty of these are run by veterans and military spouses. Look for the tags.
Eye care
Handy if your glasses didn't survive the move.
